Went back to my lots from Craigslist yesterday...no coins except a '90 dime, but did manage some other interesting finds...found the head to a toy golf club, a putter...also what appears to be an old auto valve stem cap, the eraser tip to an old pencil, another marble, and some other pieces that I will need help to id...will post those in the What is it section..Did manage to find some household items such as the ice cube tray seperator, an old knife missing the wooden handle, an old pot lid, and some old cold cream jar with the lid still on, and will still come off, also found a couple more buttons, one glass, the other mother of pearl..found the lid to some sort of powder, or make up jar with some initials on it....another padlock, this one reads Reese US...and some type of valve...They were supposed to be scraping a lot from where a house built in 1921 was recently torn down, but never showed...maybe today...The last photo is some sort of glass tube inserted into some type of metal, with a wire holding it in...I will post this to see if anyone has an idea as to what it is....
As always, thanks for stopping by and taking a look...

The very last section under the for sale heading is Wanted...I just post in that section....I explain that I am an avid metal detectorist who is searching for properties to detect...preferably ones that had houses or other structures on them prior to 1950...I just explain that I will refill any holes dug, and am willing to share in some of the finds...it seems to work pretty well...I currently have about 10 lots in an old area of town that I can hunt whenever...they all had houses dating from the late 1800's up to around the '30s...

Nice finds. Stupid question but does Craigslist work for any place or just where you are??

I have heard of it working for others...it is free to list, and you can relist every couple of days...What do you have to lose??

I list it in the Items Wanted section...the last listing under the For Sale heading...

Thanks, here is a closeup of the valve...

I think I saw something like the item with glass you found on a Neon fixture/sign once???

Thanks Mastereagle22...that does sound kinda familiar....

The valve looks like it goes to a sprinkler system. It is used to bleed out excessive water in a dry valve system. I used to work on that kind of system. I believe it is made out of brass?

Yes, it is made of brass... and the larger end is threaded...

Baggins,
I've got my ad into craigslist. figure I'll give it a shot too, thanks for the idea. Sniffer

Very cool....keep us updated as to how it goes....sometimes with the adds, patience is a virtue...

Thanks some cool stuff that you found, thanks for posting.
