Tuesday and Thursday digging. In January? In Ohio?

Yep, crazy warm weather we had this week and I managed to get out twice. The first thing that I found on Tuesday is a “what is it ?” I think it might be a plate for a door jam that some sort of bolt would have went through.
The second target out popped a 1917 wheat penny. It is about time this poor farm gave me an old coin. My first was a 1854 dime and I found it in September 2017. This wheat is only the fifth coin that I have found on this farm and only the second with any age. Then of course I dug up the usual nails most of them square. I think 12, and I got a couple more “what is it? “ One of which is a forged item, maybe someone could help me figure out what it used to be (what’s left of it anyway). The other item is made of copper, and it looks so familiar to me, but I cannot place it.

On Thursday, I felt the need to dig before the cold front came in. I did not find any old coins, but I did find some coins that my husband’s friends threw out the window off the side of the driveway, having pity on me for not finding any coins. lol. It only took a couple years.🤪

So now I am up to 11 coins from this farm!
