Turkey Vultures

Very seldom do we get to see vultures in our little part of the world. This picture was taken last late summer on the river claims. Found out that the vultures migrate north and then back south in our province.....

There are ALOT of them here in East Tennessee.

Reminds me of the Odessa Midland area of Texas. kind of gave me the willies when I had to see a customer in that area. I always tried to find a motel that they weren't all hovering around or perched on the power lines and trees nearby. Some times I couldn't, so I'd stay in the room in the later afternoon with the curtains closed and the AC turn up and didn't go out to eat till it was dark. Interesting birds they are.
