Turn of the century pocket spill: 2 barbers & 3 V-Nickels
Hello friends. The metal detecting gods have smiled on us again at the "campmeeting" last night. My buddy Jess and I revisited one of my old productive sites thats dates back to circa 1885. Have been there many times over the years and the site never fails to surprise me.
Was searching in the woodline when I started getting hits all over the place, nickel, dime, nickel, dime, etc. What a thrill........
Somone either fell or laid down over a hundred years ago and lost all their change. Just under the leaves and dirt, inches apart from each other were 1892 and 1903 Barber Dimes, and 3 V-nickels dates are 1892, 1904, and 1907.
Jess got a 1912 Barber dime, also a V-nickel, a buffalo nickel. Will post those along side here as soon as he sends me the pics.
Thanks for looking....................Rich
