My first almost complete bird bone whistle. I went out for a bit this afternoon and just about passed it by, thought it was just another broke bone. After getting the dirt cleaned out of it I got to re-introduce it's voice back to the ND wind. What a thrill when I got it to whistle. (I didn't know my camera was set on B/W until after I picked it up in the insitu).

I also picked up the bone flaker and the shell ornaments today. The rest is Saturday's stuff.

Yeah, it actually surprised me when, after a few tries, it whistled. It was absolutely awesome when I realized what I had just heard.

Thanks Joel, yeah we're very fortunate to be able to hunt this site. I've said it many times before here on tNet "It's always something and it's usually something unusual." I don't recall ever going out there and not finding something.

Really nice finds still a great artifact even with the damage.

freakin' amazing. That flute is incredible and to be able to hear its sound for the "first time in who the heck knows". Very cool!

That is really awesome! Love artifacts fashioned out of raw materials like that.

very nice! I like the thought of hearing the sound again after who knows how long silent. What is the rasp part? I would have thought just decoration. would one have drawn something across the rasp while blowing on the whistle?

hi there thanks for posting the flute,it is a wonderful find.

Oh yeah that is a nice little welcomed addition......well done my friend nice recovery............Chris

Very nice whistle, I would like to hear it's voice sometime and I really do like your B/W pics of it! CR
