First is a button with an eagle on it. Can't see any writing on the back. Age?

2nd looks to have been gold plated. For writing, I can see IVES?SC? & Co. I don't know how much lettering is under the loop, but there's at least one letter after the "C". It also says "EXTRA" on the bottom. Anyone know what the actual manufacturer name is? Also, age?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The first button is a federal Civil War-Era eagle button. Looks like there's some nice gilding on that second button. Take a gander at my "How to clean buttons" post in the "Cleaning and Preservation" section of the forum.

Cheers,

Buckles
