Two civil war battle sites in Indian territory

I live near two civil war battle sites between Union Indian troops and CSA regulars that occured in Indian Territory (Oklahoma) back in 1861. I have one site pretty well established but not certain on the other, still researching. What kind of artifacts might I expect to find and how should I go about searching with metal detector? IE: Campfires, slit trenches, ? jimmileo

Jimmileo, you might try checking out www.itthc.com they have quite a few members that specialize in Okla. Civil War sites and what might be located. Myself speaking, I've only found 3-ringers, buttons, and piece of canteen. Let me know if it helped.
