I had a good day today coin Shooting an empty lot.
1917 Merc . and 1948 quarter.
Also two wheat pennies both in the early forties.
A gentleman came up to me as I was leaving and started to chat I managed to get permission to hunt his property with the home being built in 1908 that will be for next time.

Yeah.. It's a little fishing community

Nice digs . Thank you for the pics

Thanks guys I can't wait to get to that 1908 property

That cross and crown of thorns IS weird. Any idea why it's there??

I can only speculate its very weird.
It looked like some signs of homeless folks living in there at some point and it happens to be across the street from a church built in 1910 and still active.
..... Homeless church?

Wooden cross = Easter commemorations from church across street... Cross, crown of thorns, etc.
Didn't you guys ever go to Sunday school?

I understand what the individual items represent the questionable part is why they were arranged in the middle of a wooded area as if to have been used there.
This was deep in the woods not just laying across the street

Thrown there, cast aside most likely.
"Hmm, we got a new set up for Easter this year. May as well toss this stuff - that old lot across the street is a good place..."

Anyway... they took a very long walk into this lot to place that stuff around a small fire pit that still had charcoal in it with broken ceramics around it.

Okay. You win. Mystery it remains.
