So been running both the At Pr0o and the DFX against each other. Yesterday the Pro won with 2 Mercs. Today I used the Pro first again and got a handle full of clad. Then I went with the DFX and ran it at 15khz to work on nickels and jewelry. Got 9 nickels all clad and then I got another nickel signal at 5.5 ". I thought it would be a nice V nickel or Buffalo. Dug down and pull out a clump of mud. When I broke it open this baby was inside. First gold for the DFX. It says 14 k and .5 for the stone which is scratched or chipped little. The ring is kind of ugly (hopefully the wife won't take it) but gold is gold.

Thanks for looking

Nice ring ! Dfx is still my go to machine :icon_thumleft:

Congratulations on the gold ring!

I love playing my metal detectors, "one against the other", tends to keep them honest and productive. :laughing7:

Ya know when they find out about each other they Both gonna break up with you

What a fine surprise that was ! Could you give us a bit better view of the stone - just trying to get a better feel for what that is
might be Spinel or Ruby - though it's hard to imagine Ruby being either very chipped or scratched (9 on Moh's scale of hardness)

It's more a pruplish almost like sapphire blue, but the camera makes it look red

I like the ring. It has a nice, older look to it. Not sure what the stone might be, I would have a jeweler check it out.

Congratulations on the ring

Nice rings, and that is the way to compare machines!!

That's a nice chunky ring good job!

MAN SHES A BEAUTY ....................

15Khz on the DFX is a killer on gold jewelry, no doubt. Especially with a 6" coil in my experience. Sweet ring.

Nice job on the ring

Next time you feel like trying both, do a side by side comparison. Check some signals with both machines! A good teacher!

Very nice ring!

It doesn't sound like your playing one against the other, but that you are using each for its strengths!
