Congrats on the war Wheaties. In good shape too.

I know all i was finding were coins from the 60-80's all day and i was cold. Finding these in the same hole cheered me up to search a bit more

Are they "steelies" or war era copper wheats?

Looks like a '44 and a '45 copper. I've heard of war nickels and steelies but never a war wheatie, lol. At any rate thanks for sharing and good luck digging.

I know what ya mean about the war wheaties. I was imagining 2 rusty 'ol '43 steelies that were somehow preserved by being pressed together . Lol.

Nice scores- there's probably silver close by so dig any iffy targets!

Love coin spills! Nice find.

I had the same thoughts scrappy. Gunna search out that area. Damm this freezing wind today

Pennies from 1944-1946 were made out of a copper salvaged from spent bullet casing from the war.
