Underwater find

[Kieth-Tx]

Pulled this out from a mid 1800's location where a fort had been. Any ideas? Thanks

Is it brass?

[Kieth-Tx]

Yes

[Sentrom]

An old brass fitting for a sailing ship used to secure a light cable or small rope line.

Very possible! My buddy pulled up a charger (pewter plate) that was off a ship here. This fort was part of a port.
