So I think I have experienced, what you call a good weekend.

Woke up Saturday morning, and wanted to swing the coil, but also wanted to do some landscaping in front of the house on both sides of the sidewalk. Then it occurred to me that that's where I found a merc. last year.

So I'll work and hunt at the same time:hello2:

Set up the wheelbarrow with some half inch hardware cloth, grabbed the pinpointer, the lesche, and got to work. DSCF0861.JPG

Cut out the sod.(That lesche is a work horse)DSCF0863.JPG And took it to the back to be processed(:laughing7:).DSCF0949.JPG

After I sifted all the dirt next to the side walk,(8" depth), and processing the sod in the back. The final tally was:

3 marbles. (One possibly clay.)
1 very nice 34 Merc.
1 not so very nice 20's 30's? Merc.
Pics coming.

So I'm not done.

Sunday, just happened to be the day that the tenant at my girlfriends rental property moved out because my GF sold the house.

I put my gear on , and waddled my happy ass over there, thinking the whole time, "This has to be Virgin ground". Well I think I was right!

I started by the sidewalk leading to the front door, and I began an incredible coin shoot. My first. And I couldn't believe what was coming out of the ground.

I like the wheelbarrow setup, I'm going to use that idea in the future without a doubt!
Great recoveries, especially the silver coins! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

Congrats! Best of luck when ya get back out there:thumbsup:

Awesome, You gotta love a virgin site. You pulled a fist full of keepers. I'd grid that sit in 2 directions. Looks like you did a great job of mixing work with treasure hunting on Saturday. 5 Silvers and two Buffalos, spell happiness for sure.

you WANTED to do landscaping? Weirdo

No that's a coin shoot; great finds. What did you use to clean the Buffalos?

I used the baking soda finger method. Took a few times. Was surprised how they turned out compared to the clad. Seemed like they used acid for fertilizer.

Very nice my man. You got a nice selection of finds. Congrats.

You make me wanna get out and garden now except for there ain't jack in my yard. Congrats on such a great hunt and please post some pictures of the benefits of your backbreaking labor in the next few months.
