Unknown Central florida fossil, please help?

I am not sure about this one, not even a guess. It is from central florida, in the lake whales ridge area, it is slightly curved, cylindrical, and appears to have a hole through the middle. it is layered as you can see in the fractured areas. Any ideas? sorry about the fingernails.

Looks like a fossil left by a tube worm.

Not a tube work shell . . . the walls are too thick and are composed of lamina, unlike a tube worm shell.

The way the object is delaminating is interesting, more mammal-like than mollusk-like. But, I can't make a better guess than that.

Your right Harry.. it is odd.
The layering reminds me of the way some sea shells deteriorate..Mabey not.
It does remind me of this cross section of a compressed algae type of Flint I photographed in north Florida.

it is strange, I have found the tube worms before but this is a real mystery to me. I may have to take it to the university. thanks for your help guys.

these things are sand shrimp burrow necks.....could your fossil be a mineral replacement within such a void?
