Unknown "mark"

...or, it's unknown to me. I found this large man's ring on easter Sunday. At first I thought it was silver but when I got home and inspected the inside for the mark to verify, I discovered the mark is "1s" OR "I s". I did several on-line searches to no avail. Anyone know????? Is it the artists mark and thus just costume?
Oh, and the back of the ring is solid.
help...and thanks!

Re: Unknown "mark"

Looks like a roll of wire solder in your pic.

A pic of the mark will be a big help.
I agree, time to pull out the magnifying glass and take another pic.

Re: Unknown "mark"

Just a bit of advice vibes. Your pictures would look more professional and less confusing if you removed any clutter (such as stacked coins, keys, bubble glass etc) from the picture. What is that item to the left of the ring and why is it in the picture? :D

Use a single solid color background such as a blue or green tablecloth with no clutter and focus solely on the ring from several angles. If the cameras LCD screen looks out of focus, the resulting picture will be as well. In other words 'what you see is what you get'.

In the original pic, I can almost read the date on the penney (1961-D) so I would imagine with a little more familiarity with your camera and the ring mark would also be readable. Are you using the Macro setting?

The second pic is out of focus and useless. The third pic is a little better focused but I dont know where to look for the mark.

Re: Unknown "mark"

I couldnt even tell it was a ring by the first pic. It looked like a roll of wire solder. I can clearly see the ring in the third pic. Much better :icon_thumright: but I cant see the mark. No offense meant either just trying to help. A good picture tells a thousand words. Very unusual ring.

Re: Unknown "mark"

I dont see how the pics are related
yes, the first one looks like solder wire and not framed in to create a ring face
the second pic of a ring looks like the wire has a trim of edge on the face
I dont get it

I agree, a pic will tell more.

I take that back :tongue3:

Ok, had to EDIT. The top pic is the face of the ring? Now there's an illusion for ya! :D

Re: Unknown "mark"

Shouldn't the mark be on the inside of the band on the solid part of the ring? It takes a little practice but you can do it. I took these with a 6 year old cheap kodak digital camera and a magnifying glass.

Practice a little, we have faith in ya!

Re: Unknown "mark"

Keep in mind what you see on the LCD screen, is what you will get. (If the pic looks blurry on your camera screen, it will look blurry here too) Holding steady, carefully push the button slightly, pausing halfway to let the autolens focus and, if it looks good, push the button all the way down to take the picture. If the pic is blurry on your camera screen, back off slightly or adjust the distances until it looks in focus.
