Unknown military medal.. us artillery

Dug up this metal today. On the front says "war of "then the cross cannons signifying artillery. then under that "US Army". have no idea what it is, anybody know? Year?

it's a watch fob. it bears the Coastal Artillery insignia. most likely WW1 era

As jewelerguy mentioned........
The insignia is for Coast Artillery Corps (CAC), which was responsible for large guns deployed along the US coast line/ harbor defense in static defensive positions. The CAC also conducted the same mission in US controlled areas (Panama/ Philippines, etc...).
