I "scored' this today at a garage sale for a buck. I have no clue and neither did the seller, as he indicated that he bought a storage unit, and it was in one of the boxes. It may be a musical device, but that is just a long shot guess. As always my friends, thank you for your time and feedback. It is always appreciated.

Turns out that really is a great pick after all! I'm seeing complete with case running upwards of $300 on the Bay.
