Unusual seated Civil War Hunt

These are very recent. I went back to a site at which point has now been pounded. After going all over the fields, with little to show for it, I opted to go into one area we hadn't found much in. It's down a little gulley, not the best place for an encampment, but in a very small area of about 20' x 20' was able to find a few items. This is the first time ever I have found two seated dimes in one day! I may have 5 or 6 total I have ever found (I lose track, once I put them away, I sort of forget how much I have, until I pull them out and go oh yeah!). The button is a NY button, and two of the bullets are modern.

Two very nice seated dimes,and I am glad to see coins dug that the soil had not disfigured.Some times areas where we think will be unproductive turn out otherwise. Keep up the good work.

That’s two more seated dimes than I have ever found! Two capped coins earlier, now two seated coins. Wow.

You consistently get the good stuff. That NY button looks like it’s in nice shape.

Thanks all. It was a long, hard hunt. All that had been found earlier in the day were more modern bullets, they are still in the truck. Found a patch of modern aluminum foil and some golf balls. Also two shotshell bases, two plow points, a big piece of aluminum about 15" down, (thought I had another plate), three iron washers, just in case you think I only get "good" stuff. I could hear a lot of small iron, but don't dig it in these fields. Our season is "ending", by that it's February, March and almost all of April and the fields are planted and that's it until late November. Hot months are for the beach and an occasional lawn. I think last year, 2016-2017 was better with one exception.

Thank you. Here's a picture of the rest of the modern bullets. They all appear to be full metal jacket. Are these ex-military issue? The one that looks like a hat is just a mushroomed fired round.

A Double Seated Day is rare for most of us.
That was a sweet hunt. It must take you a week to clean your truck with all the stuff you leave in it. You must remember to run a coil over all the mudballs just in case. lol

Someone wants to dig this weekend and the weather stinks....it is an equation of time in the field, keeping the machine turned on, har har har and having something in the ground where you are detecting to begin with. I have been blessed with FOUR untouched sites in the last year. With 80% of the items, the cheapest machine out there would have found them. 10%, you needed a good discriminator and 10% were a whisper and a prayer.
