UPDATE $1800!!!!! Finally I found a ring and it's a beauty

My wife, son, and I headed to the beach over the weekend. Night time arrived Sunday and I tried a spot near the hotel. I decided I would try searching a small area of the beach really well rather than just pick an area and pass through it. I mostly try searching the waterline but this time was different, I decided I would try the dry sand also. To make a long story short I found this baby near a trail of pull tabs about 8 inches down. I realized it wasn't another coin by the sound it made swirling around in the scoop. In the moon light I could see it was a large ring, but figured it was a child's fantasy ring. I decided to pull out the flashlight and I started to get weak in my knees with the sight of gold. Afther checking the area to see if there was anything else, I headed back to the hotel (almost running).

I haven't found out yet what the green stone is but as soon as I find out I will post it. There are 13 nice size diamonds around the green stone, the ring itself is heavy, 14k.

I guess I finally paid for my Excalibur.....OH YEAH!!!!!!!

peridot's over 1 carat are rather "pricy" --thats a nice one indeed ---nice setting --if the ring is real gold say 14 k or 18 k --you might have a "big time ring" the small stones might be diamonds----if its 14 k or 18 k HGE (heavy gold electro plate) the the stones maybe high quality austrian crystals---I know of rings that were some what similar in looks (bought one years ago for a now "former" wife as a gift while overseas)---and even if its the peridot and crystals and 18k HGE ---its worth at least a couple hundred bucks---great find--(I know because that what I paid for hers in the mid 80's)-Ivan

I just got back from the jewelry shop.

3.2 carat Peridot
65 points in diamonds
14kt setting

The guy told me the retail value is around $1800.00.

I left it on consignment.

I know I am happy.....

It just glows at the top of the page, my eyes did this when I saw it. I am stunned. Congratulations on an awesome find. Good luck with the sale (I'd of had to keep it!).

It was GREAT find....You will find more and better things at some point in time so don't sweat the sale. Just enjoy knowing there are other rings on that beach and you may find one tomorrow.

holy moley 100% real--(like I said earlier *if the ring was 14 k solid you might have a "big time" ring ---peridots over 1 ct are pricy and the small stones are real diamonds*)-----whow---ca ching----winner ---give the man a cigar!!!--- 1800 bucks-- man thats sweet---looks like that $1000 buck machine done paid for itself--- even if it had been a "high qualty" fake 14 kt HGE with crystals and a smaller stone it would have been worth some $$$---it cost me a bit over 200 bucks at the duty free store overseas in the back in the 80's when I bought a "high dollar fake" for my then wife (now ex) as a "small gift" when returning home --she loved that ring to death---come to think of it she always did like the color"green" way too much now that I think of it---Ivan

That turned out to be very nice, Congrats!!!
Just remember, if you sell it, be sure to make a backup, of your backup, of your backup for your pictures. I once give one of my rings away and then my computer crashed and I lost all my pictures of it. Went to the person to try and get another pic and they had already lost the ring again...lol

At least you can go back and check it to make sure he aint screwin ya. I have heard of jewelry shops sending guys away with really valuable rings to try and get them to dump em right there for nothing.
