Hi All , Found this in a River bed not far from the petroforms . Will post what it is next week when the results get in.

BUT WHATS YOUR GUESS ? its wieght is 2.35lbs

i"d put money on meteorite it has a nice crust with a bright looking interear witch indicates a high nickle content .

I've seen meteorites and it's a real good possibility that it's what you have. I don't think it's slag because of the one shiney surface. Could be worth a few $'s if it is a meteorite. Congrats......Hogge

WTG on that find With that weight and size I think you may have a meteorite If so, that is worth more than just a few bucks even at that size

I think you better start thinking in grams, not lbs., on this one. It looks like a vacation to Hawaii for two, to me.

I'm betting Meteorite! Then Banner, when it's confirmed.

i think you have found a meteorite. i was watching a special on tlc about a guy who goes metal detecting for them, and some of them are worth lots of money.

Looks a lot like some of the meteorites I've seen. A little like slag too, but I hope it's a meteorite for you. They do seem to be worth a bunch. What's up with the 'petraforms'? Were these recently made? If you believe they pre-date your local historic era, you need to get them posted on the signs and symbols forum. Those guys will love those.

Hi all , the petraforms are from about 350 to 500 A.D , and I hope its not slag , yet its heavier then any slag that i have handled

and its made up of the same metal threw out , accept one end has sand or silica adhering to it.

Geologist told my son that its a possible Meteorite and doing testing on it this week
