Hello all,

I picked this up at an estate sale very inexpensively. The symbol on it looked military to me but no one seemed to be paying attention to it. So I bought it and did a little research and found out that it is indeed military, and it's from the US Army Transportation Corps.

U.S. Army Transportation Corps - Fort Lee, Virginia

The problem is, I don't know WHAT it is! I was thinking parade conductors baton or something, but I honestly have no idea. So, if anyone has any info on what it is, the approximate age, or the approximate value I would appreciate it.

The stick is wood. The end caps are brass. It is 23 inches long. There are no markings other than the unit crest.

Thanks for looking!

Swagger stick of either the top sgt or the commander of the unit. Used for show and pointing. Held in one hand while walking or shoved under one arm under the put. Like a horse crop. some units present them as retirement gifts.

Based on the insignia style, I'd say it is post WWI.

This insignia has only been in use since 1942, and I'm good with swagger stick. Thanks for your help!
