Not that I will be of any help, but others will need to see the back of the buckle, in particular the prongs that attach to the leather....but that may be hard to do.

Maybe an Indian War era buckle....if so pretty cool! Civil War era had 3 prongs on the back and were oval shaped.

We call those buckles "occupation buckles" because they came out during Reconstruction and many Union troops were still occupying the South. Nice buckle.
