User Names

I have noticed that a lot of user names are very nearly the same I think this can cause confusion on posting, and that user names should all be different.

I have noticed there are several user names like mine, and now I have noticed a user name silversearcher, exactally like mine apart from the space ....come on T.Net Mods

There is a Silver Surfer as well... I get YOU guys confused sometimes..



Unfortunately, about the only solution to THAT one is an independent approval of each "screen name"

I don't know of any board code that would work... (well you can BLOCK "bad words" and already registered names and the like)

<------ Just get a VERY "distinctive" avatar..


I changed my original screen name because everyone thought my name was "Randy"

Think I'll go back to tyre kicker..my first user name

Jeff you have lost me so as this site gets bigger, and more and more people join we are going to have more name clashing

I agree But some are bringing these names from other sites

& When you have Thousands of Members

The Second one has to settle the 3rd

Has a harder time. Etc.

Say it takes them 30 minutes if trying
different names till they find one that works.

Silver Searcher, I'm friends with Silver Surfer (Christof) and I won't lie... I used to confuse the two of your screen names ALL the time!! Especially since you have the avatar that represents Christof's screen name. It's really confusing, so I agree with this post.
Everyone should definitely start being a little more creative. But unfortunately, it's not for the Mod's to sift out, because those people aren't "technically" doing anything wrong that would cause them to have to choose a different screen name. Sad, but true.
As for that person that has silversearcher (without the space), that's definitely not right. But again, they're free to make their screen names however they wish on here. It's all about creativity (or sometimes, the lack thereof)
