Using WMO8

Wondering if everyone is using their WMO8.
I'm thinking about getting one .

I've never used mine. If in going to be tethered to my headphones I'll just hook them to my unit directly. I like my BT phones better anyway. If you have a wired set that you really like it might be worthwhile.

I used mine once just to make sure it worked. Haven't used it since. I like the factory wireless headphones.

Hi Donut,
for me I use the WM08 as a backup for my BT headphones when I am coin and jewelry hunting for shallow to medium targets. If I am relic hunting or gold prospecting for deep or small targets I use my WM08 with wired headphones or earbuds and just stuff the chord in my shirt, coat or pocket so chords are out of the way. I get better sound quality and less lag on tiny and deep targets with the WM08s. Also, if I am in an area where wildlife or even humans could be a threat I can just use one earbud or earbuds and headphones that allow enough of the sounds around me to hear any possible danger. When it is really hot, I also prefer to not wear over the ear headphones for too long.

I use mine every time with ear buds in hot weather, I like the wm-08

never used it like the stock wireless. Then I ordered the Grey Ghost waterproof. They are awesome. The tones are reaLLY SEPERATED. i BOUGHT THEM FOR WATER HUNTING BUT MIGHT USE THEM ALL THE TIME.

Lots of people that bought the 800 have them hiding in a drawer somewhere. If you asked around you could probably get a good deal on a barely used one. They work fine and are actually faster than the stock wireless headphones. I never used mine because I bought bluetooth earbuds for hot weather.

I use my WM08 in hot weather when I wear a large brimmed hat to avoid sunburning my neck. Can't wear the BT phones with that hat so I use the WM08 with ear buds. Works great.

I use mine. I use it with my Gray Ghosts. It pairs up so much better than their BT. I do miss true un-teathered wireless but got tired of trying to pair the other phones up whenever it would break the connection. The only thing I don't like about it is the stupid clip they gave us.

I use mine for wading in the lake at chest deep. I have some wired telex headphones that I plug into a minelab adapter. I wind the plug to the connector with water proof electrical tape and screw into my 800. Now I can fully submerge my 800 while wading in the water. I found as others have bluetooth signals won't even go through a couple inches of water.

So yes, the WM08 is always in my go kit backback. Other than that I cannot think of a use for it since my Trond wireless bluetooth headphones work great with my 800.

I didn't think the WM08 worked with the unit underwater either. [emoji53]
