I did some urban detecting on a side walk tear out in front of an old apartment building that was built in 1908. The property had been vacant for some time and the area just in front of the building as well as the sidewalk surrounding the building were all dug up ready for new pipes and fresh concrete. I had a great time recovering some old coins and a relic that would have been lost forever. Here are my finds including my first ever Liberty "V-Nickel" and she is a beauty!
1909 Liberty "V" Nickel (cleaned, can't get the remaining red off)
1918 S Mercury Dime (cleaned)
1924 Mercury Dime (cleaned)
1944 D Wheat Penny (fresh)
1946 S Wheat Penny (fresh)
Ornate broach or belt relic, looks turn of the century and possible had a large jewel as a front setting (fresh)
Enjoy the pics,
