So, these are a few weeks old, but I had one piece I couldn't identify. Last night I posted it on "what is it?" and thanks to the Cannonball Guy (a fellow Richmonder) he immediately id it as a shoulder plate clasp. After searching for what he had just told me, I recognized another piece I had found back in March and almost threw it out. Ended up being a saddle plate! The last item....kind of hard to miss identify. Nice confederate artillery button!! Thanks again cannonball guy! If I see you out around town I'll buy you a cold one.

Actually, I said it is from shoulder-scales (also called epaulettes). Please pardon the nit-picking about the name. The term you used ("shoulder plate") sounds too similar to a shoulder belt plate... an entirely different object.

I should've sent you a PM that I'd have a sales-table at the relic show in Richmond this past weekend. We could have had a cold drink together at the snack bar there. :)

I apologize CannonballGuy. I think I got excited that you helped me ID two pieces I had been looking for for a few weeks.... Rookie mistake. I wish I had made it to the show. I didn't realize it was this weekend. Feel free to PM me if you know of or will have a table at any other local shows in the future! I still owe you a cold one. By the way, It looks like the Showplace will soon be a new Roses department store.

Nice Block A. Does it have a back mark?? I live in Mechanicsville. If I would have know CBG would have been there at the show I would have brought a small shell I've been looking for help on. Nice finds again

No problem, Flathead25. I made a lot of "rookie mistakes" myself.

There won't be another "major" civil war relic show in the Richmond area until November, the weekend before Thanksgiving. I'll have a sales-table there.

Good A man, JUST KIDDING, That's a very nice Confederate Artillery button , I'm also curious about the back mark ..The other relics are cool as well ,as they are from Americas only Civil War. Well, Hopefully the only one..

Davers, the back on the button is non-existant. I'm told its a confederate local with tin backing. Even the shank is shot. Not much left.
