Venice, FL Fossil Dive Trip Report From Yesterday 6/2/13

Went out on http://aristakatcharters.yolasite.com/ yesterday, in Venice, FL, and had a great couple of dives (avg. 10ft viz) and nice weather. We had a nice haul and now just need to clean these babies up!

I'm glad the divers are still getting good stuff...the beach replenishment all but shut down the finds on shore.

Wow shark's teeth must be falling out like flies!! I never realized they were so plentiful on the ocean floor. I am more of a land animal myself so I am not familiar with diving for fossils, etc.. How is it that so many teeth wind up on the bottom like that?

That's amazing. Thanks Gatorboy I never realized that a shark would shed his teeth like that. I have always wanted to learn to dive but never got the nerve to do it. So I must be content to look at the awesome finds you guys post on here. Love seeing all the good stuff.

I have been down there several times, and keep mentioning to my wife that I would like to take her to Venice, and to Sanibel Is.

Here's a little bit better before and an after. No gems in the lot, but some cool stuff nonetheless. I made a necklace out of the nicer Snaggletooth and one of the smaller Megs.

WOW!! no wonder they are able to hold on to the stuff they bite. I never knew they had so many teeth in their mouth. Don't know if that would be a dentist's dream or nightmare...LOL
