Very odd brass thing

[JohnDee1]

As the title says I found this brass/copper thing. No idea what it is. Thought it might be part of a lock, but the hole is bare and kind’ve small. It’s heavy, could be pewter. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

Looks to be broken off another piece, gonna be hard to ID.
