Very Unusual-NewPics! UPDATE! It's OPEN!!!!!

I found this out in the barn while I was moving some old boards . The bottom and top are glass .

There is some stuff inside it - a scrap of material on one side , and a ring shaped thing on the other side .
It is corroded shut . I swabbed some wd40 on it to help loosen it .
maybe tomorrow I can twist it off ?

Very Intresting

My first thought is maybe a sewing kit of some sort. I can't wait to see what is inside. Looking forward to more pics.

I like the compact/powder idea and the sewing kit idea. One of them two. Drum roll until it's opened..............

Looks to be a container for pocket watch movement. Will be interesting to see what it on the inside.

Back in the day when someone died they placed locks of hair from the deceased in keepsakes and wove them amongst a piece of cloth also of significance.

Perhaps it's brunette hair woven amongst the burgundy colored silk thread looking stuff.

I still can't get it open , I was able to clean the glass for a better view .

looks like 'claws' ? in a circle . the other side 'weaved cloth' of some sort ?
