VIDEO - LIVE HOTCHKISS SHELL RECOVERY FROM RIVER

Valley Ranger · Oct 21, 2014

Here's a short video with some still shots of recent Civil War river recoveries. Included is a live dig and recovery of an unexploded Hotchkiss shell. I've got 5 full day hunts scheduled for October and November so I should have some more video soon. Thanks for taking a look.

Some nice finds Richard. The Hotchkiss came out looking good. Very enjoyable video. WTG, Q.

BTE- The pot scraper looks a lot like part of a currycomb.

Thanks Q. Could be right on the pot scraper. Rob Langdon leaned toward the pot scraper - hard to say for sure. Thanks for looking!

Uncle Zebediah: " Yeah, now you will and the lazy, no good, shiftless skunk will probably be out here diggin' up that piece o trash! "

What was left was pretty well soaked, I believe. This one could be seen as it was only partly buried in shallow water. I've also found bullets just lying on the bottom of the river in plain sight. Amazing.
