Vintage or Antique Cigarette Dispenser?

I volunteer at a thriftstore and people drop off unique items such as this lovely, ornate cigarette dispenser. The bottom has an (M) and is made in Japan. It's quite heavy, brass perhaps and has floral details on each side. I've looked and looked through the web to find more info on it but nothing. The money we sell it for at the store goes back into the community to help people and organizations in need. I would be grateful for advice or an idea as to monetary value of it? I would hate to price it cheap when it could be worth a lot more. Thank you!!
