Vintage Sterling Brooch

Picked up the filigree brooch at a yard sale for $5!!! Only thing Im not sure of is the backwards "S" on the "Sterling" mark. Anyone ever see the backwards "S" before? Any information would be great! Thanks

The n in "Made in Mexico" looks backward as well (or updside down). The S actually looks like an upside down 2 to me.

I'm a little worried about it.... Mexico silver is sketchy. Should get it acid tested.
