Howdy All, I just found 5 buttons at a local flea market. Virginia seal on front, three piece construction, and C. Wendlinger Richmond Virginia on back. Can anybody tell me an approximated age? Thanks!

I just saw one like it on Ebay advertised as Virginia Civil War officers button. Could these possibly be that old or are they newer? Thanks again.

As I understand that company started mid/late war, and that most of their buttons were post war. They were in business until ~1900 I believe. That being said, buddy of mine recently bought one dug from Williamsburg va (pics below) Also here’s is a link for a very similar one. Not sure what you paid for them, but I’m thinking you did ok.

…..also here are pics from Albert’s book. I think that’s your button.
