Anyone ever heard of this device ?

Looked it up....apparently it's a portable media viewer?

I also looked it up and saw that it can "stream" but not record shows/movies, etc. "free" without paying for that service,
either way apparently it's not legal to do this as one would suspect since you don't get nothing for free, it's not clear if you can easily get caught or not using one of these but if you do you can be charged with a crime.

There is quite a few versions of the Vseebox. different models. I was told it is legal and i am trying to find out

It's legal to own one and it's legal to use one...if you have a subscription to the content you're streaming.

Apparently unlike some other streaming devices which wont let you stream from an unsubscribed service, this device will let you stream unsubscribed content, which is illegal.

Here's what I'm referring to...

"Is vSeeBox legal in the USA?

AI Overview

VSeeBox hardware is technically legal to own, similar to a Roku or Firestick, but using it to stream copyrighted content without a subscription is illegal in the U.S.. It operates in a legal gray area, often offering "fully loaded" apps that access pirated television, movies, and live sports, which constitutes copyright infringement.

Key Legal and Safety Considerations:
  • Copyright Infringement: While owning the box is fine, using it for unauthorized streaming makes you liable to pay fines or face legal action.
  • Contested Legality: Some argue that streaming without downloading is a gray area, but it is generally considered illegal.
  • Security Risks:
These devices can contain malware and pose risks to personal information, requiring users to isolate them on a separate network.
    • Suspicious Nature: The official, and often replicated, websites are considered unprofessional and suspicious.
Usage Risks:
  • Service Reliability: Apps may stop working abruptly, and the box itself may be a scam, notes a Reddit user.
  • Bandwidth Theft: The box may consume data in the background, even when not in use, as noted in.
While some users may not face immediate action, utilizing VSeeBox for free premium content is illegal,

The VSeeBox 6 Plus is a streaming device that raises significant legal and security concerns because it provides access to premium, copyrighted content without proper subscriptions. While owning the hardware is legal, using it to stream, unauthorized channels, movies, or sports constitutes copyright infringement, often referred to as digital piracy.
Legality Debate: Although the device itself is considered legal hardware, similar to a Firestick, its main functionality involves accessing copyrighted content without payment, which is illegal in many regions.
Content Piracy: VSeeBox 6 Plus is a "fully loaded" Android box. Such devices are a target of copyright enforcement actions against sellers of illicit streaming devices.
Security Risks: Users have raised concerns about potential malware, spyware, and security risks to personal data on the device.
User Advice: Many users strongly recommend using a VPN to hide streaming activities from ISPs to avoid potential penalties.
Reputation: The device is considered an easy-to-use, "plug-n-play" method for free access to paid content, but its legality is highly suspect.

Yeah, it’s just another Android TV box. Nothing special hardware-wise.
Most of the hype is about the preloaded apps and “free” content, which is usually hit or miss and can disappear anytime. Don’t expect great support or long-term reliability.
If you just want something that works without headaches, a Fire Stick or Apple TV is a safer bet. If you’re okay with tinkering and streams going down now and then, then it is what it is
