Sorry to hear of your loss. It is low-life scum who prey on others rather than work and make an honest living for themselves. Hope they are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Tiger ,

Really sorry to read that you were robbed. Keep an eye on the local pawn shops and on Ebay. You may get lucky.

Some real idiot down here stole two canoes and put them on EBay, not realizing the owner had them marked. Owner recognized them and the lowlife was busted when he sold them.

Hope you get lucky and can retrieve some of it.

Sorry to hear about your being robbed. Hope your stuff is recovered quickly!

That sucks. I had a brand new Toyota Supra stolen back in the '80s, so I feel your pain.

Let's hope restitution is part of their sentencing.

Glad to know you got some of it back at least - and they'll be the first ones looked at for any other robberies in the neighborhood!

still a bummer.

Tiger,

Sorry to hear this happened to you. Glad you were able to get some of your processions back. I'm sure they (police department) will be able to recover the items that was "sold" plus make the boys pay for the damaged or destroyed items.

I am glad to hear that you got some of your stuff back. The tools and MD can be replaced, I'm sure that most of the coins could not simply for the sentimental value of collecting them. You should consider yourself very lucky, I would venture to say that at least 90% of these crimes go unsolved and the items never recovered.

Sorry for your loss and happy that your collection was recovered and the @#$%^&* were caught.

Great on getting some of your stuff back!! Better than none. I hope the MD can be fixed and maybe you can find the rerst of the tools. You shouldn't have to buy them back if you can locate them. That would probably fall on the punk-assed thieves...

need to invest in a nice aluminum baseball bat. There is nothing like catching someone trying to rip you off and swinging for the fences with the bat.

Forget the bat I have Hollow Points ;D.

ACK!! Tiger that really burns me up!! I am glad you got your coins and part of your tools back. I am sorry that your detector was damaged in the process. I can certainly think of a great place for your detector to stay until the trial. Right up those punks.._ _ _.

There has been a high theft rate where I live the last 4 years. I hope they are handing out high sentences in your area. I hates me a thief. I was not hit nearly as hard as you were, but I had atleast $400 worth of losses 3 years ago. I am sure it was done by 1 of the 3 young men here; who everyday are robbing some village of thier idiots. No proof was available to get any of them.

I am glad the police got them for you. Hope you can get your detector up and running soon or get a new one from their coin.

I am very glad also that no one in your family was physically harmed as a result of this robbery.

That really blows...if the police are on the ball they will investigate, and not just check, the local coin dealers. Odds are the oldest coins were sold with your tools.

Any chance you have pics of the oldest coins? Or some kind of proof of what they are? I ask this because if you also have a coin value book, or the police can probably check out one at pawn brokers, most of them have one. THen perhaps with a list of the tools it becomes a higher level of theft.

Of course if it's a higher level of theft, then perhaps its just enough ammo for the police to scare those 2 guys into telling where they took the coins.

Man I sure hope you can get the coins back.

GOod luck,

TIGER!! Sorry about your loss. I was relieved to read you got some of your things back, but the tools, coins, and the ACE!!!!

Follow up with the police. Make sure they have given you a case number. Get your homeowners insurance going.

Keep us posted, and remember, thank God no one was physicall hurt.

Sorry to hear about your loss. That is a bad day. I have yet to really have anything really valueable stolen from me and tend to be a little naive in this department.

Home burglars are the lowest of the low. Glad to hear you recovered some of your losses. Contact Garrett's with a copy of the police report i am sure they fix it for you. Please keep us posted on the results of the thieves punishment. Maybe you can sue their parents for the stuff that's gone.

Personally I think stealing a metal detector or the finds should be a capital offense punishable by death. You can, t get people to do this so take the next best step, don,t let the count on the standard legal system, file a civil suit against them an take those two mouth breathing low lifes for all they are worth. Remember to smile when you get what you want from the judge, REVENGE +!

I concur with Born2Dtect, I would file a 'Small Claims' suite or civil action naming the offenders and their parents, and against the parents homeowners insurance for the total damage including cost of new locks.
