What kind of mickey-mouse outfit expects the talent to pay their own way?

The kind that doesn't want to invest in green prospectors never knowing what they are gonna get lol. Doesn't matter how long you been digging, unless you have done it in Alaska you're green. Lol

YAAAA send cash-pay your own way-we film you killing yourself and wearing out your equipment and makes them more cash.wow what a cool deal. I'll take 2 from colum F and 1 from M' for a great big ol' F'M'-John :skullflag:

hahaha i was just talking to a friend of mine about this! but only doing a spoof on this subject! dredgeing up in Wyoming or Colorado. Hoser knows what/who im talking about! id like to have my dredge go over the hill and down into the creek.maybe a little bailing wire to put er back together and diffently drinking/fighting/yelling/ bonfires like youve never seen before, and haveing a ball! nothing to serious! if only my back was in a little better shape id do it! maybe next year, but the entire Country will probly be closed down by then by o and his buddys in the wacoenviromental groups! hey, theres another idea! roasted wacos by the fire?? naw it would probly stink to much! :)

Hey Russ, are you referring to the production with "Dakota Red" in it? Should be good fun!

Looks like gold painted rocks to me. Great they are out there offering this opportunity to those who want it. I do recommend they find a pic of real gold for the profile picture ;-)

I thought it was gold sprues from a smelting operations, but definitely NOT mining or placer gold.

On those other gold shows I've always suspected that they get a payday from the production company no matter how much gold they get. How in the world can even just a crew member go to Alaska for 4 months, and come back home afterwards with only 4-5 ounces and think they were successful? You can make more than that working in the fish canneries in AK for the summer.

Yes you are right. They get paid on a per episode basis.

Well, I thought this might be something that I would fit into, but they want you to pay your own way. I can bairly support my habit doing local places in Alabama, lol.

If they want you to pay your own way, they are not a serious production company. You would be better off spending that money on a camera and filming yourself and putting your videos up on Youtube.

I have worked in television for twenty years, and there was a time when people/events were actually just filmed and shows were made. Now, just about everything is written/produced. There are a few shows left that could be considered real, accurate, whatever. But they are a dying breed.
