Wanted to repost these Japanese dolls

I got very few comments on opinion on age and what they are. I was told they are theater dolls by a member here but by looking again they look like they were attached to something. Maybe I could get some more opinions or new members for opinions. To those who seen these sorry just cleaning my stuff up and these got my attention again lol

I don't think they are Kabuki, as those have mask's, not sure what type of theater doll was being referenced but I agree they look like they were mounted on something else, maybe like pottery.IMO

There are small holes on the bottom of each running up through that cement looking stuff. It also looks like something was in each hand

Were the symbols on the gowns ever accredited to a certain nationality? The way the hands are positioned they could have been holding weapons, Also were these part of the items with the Foo dogs if so I would think Chinese?

If you can link the original post you might not get a lot of the same questions you did when first posted.I didn't see these .

It seems like nobody wants to comment on these dolls maybe they are voodoo.......

They may have been ornamentation in a building that was being torn down and were saved from the demo.That could explain the fact that they look as though they were applied to something.
