You were just doing your job Bridge.
Hope he filled in his holes?

True some parts of responsibilities are never fun, so busy I didn't look to see if he had. He did tell me there was a lot of nails under my tires LOL. He was sweeping an old burn pile area and I didn't see him with any trash or collection type bag etc.

Either way you went on this one you did good. You really did what you had to do and he learned a very good lesson.

It is a tough thing when it comes to liabilities, if you see it or have knowledge of it and you allow it you have in sense by "our" court standards gave/granted permission and are liable should something happen on your premises.

I hope so as the first ethical rule is:

I will respect private property and do no treasure hunting without the "owners" permission.

I also hope we cross paths again maybe at the beach or a park while I am hunting.

I've been driving by this spot i wanted to hunt every day for months, but i refused to detect it because i couldn't find the owner. Yesterday I saw a man cutting the grass, so i stopped and asked if he knew the owner. He said he was the owner so i asked and got permission to hunt all i want. He stated that he has had problems with people dumping trash on his property but he had no problem with me MDing. On the other had I have had a lot of problems locating who to ask at a lot of churches in the area. everybody says that it shouldn't be a problem but there not sure??? :dontknow: We have some really old churches in this town but most don't have phone numbers to call, and if they do you get an answering machine and no return call!!! So i've been sticking to parks, schools and friends houses so far. What church do you work at and would they give me permission to hunt???

In reading your first post I see that you had to ask permission to hunt this area! It seems to me that you really don't have the authority to allow or deny anyone to hunt the area. Perhaps you should have given him the contact number of the person who gave you permission. It would really be their decision whether or not this person would be allowed to hunt!

I think you read it wrong for it is my decision but when any type group event like a club hunt it is discussed with others as there are other events that take place throughout the complex and one event might interfere with another event. There are many issues with a event. Parking, areas used, trash, and even things as simple as the grass needs to mowed before cause this event will disrupt the normal schedule times. It also is discussed like through emails, meetings, etc so others also know that there is someone out at so and so. It helps should folks be out there like a young lady reading, children, etc and so folks don't wonder as they see them on security cameras. which most staff can observe thru thier computers and the network and cover most of the areas.

...................................And here is the problem when you ask someone for permission, maybe they do, maybe they don't have the authority to give you permission.....sounds to me, this guy at least tried to do the right thing.
