Dan, the image was captured with a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro. Just sold most all of my camera equipment to buy a new E-Trac (again) and this is the last time. I'm sticking with detecting. Photography was just too expensive of a hobby for this poor man.

tee is here...LOL I just don't like the ones that could do great damage to my husband who still can not feel his own feet! say like the brown recluse... me a number 8 shoe will take care of those...however the garden spiders that are about as big as a golf ball are completely safe here, if I can keep them away from the hens. Have you ever been walking in the dark and walked into one of their huge net like webs....you have to kinda feel around to find the spider who you are now giving a ride to and put them back on a branch...come back the next day and they have already rebuilt their web....industrious spiders they are! by the way that is a fantastic photo!!

First, let me say that I hope that your husband makes a full recovery from his unfortunate run-in with the Brown Recluse spider. I've been fortunate in that I have never had to experiance a bite from one and never want to. I know a few people that have and wouldn't wish it on anyone. I've seen plenty of Black and Brown Widows here but never a Brown Recluse. They are here though. I have however been responsible for the demise of two Coral snakes (not King snakes) that I ran into here on the property.

No....I work on a ranch here in Chiefland, Florida and every summer, this place is covered with big, fat, Orb Weaver spiders like the one in the picture that has an abdomen that is at least an inch long and an even bigger, long bodied, yellow type. The webs are strong too and hard to get out of.....ugggh! Needless to say, I don't walk the woods at night.....lol!
