Wasn't going to go today but a friend wanted to celebrate

Go walking? ON CHRISTMAS!?!? Wasn't in my plans.

But, a good friend of mine said he wanted to do some celebrating
so, I gave in and we went out for a short walk. After all, I was
just sitting home....alone...wondering how the holiday, the family
I came from and the one I created, all, managed to skip right over me
today. Of ALL days!

Unfortunately, my friend didn't actually dig any keepers.

BUT....He did find stuff!

Walking along, getting clad here and there, pretty nice weather-wise.
I was beginning to feel a little less left out.

HIS first find was when HE led me over this scratchy, tab/penny/nickle hit.




No wonder it was a scratchy hit!

Not much further along, I found 3 zincolns in a row
and then, what I thought was another pull tab.




Closer examination showed, this to be a former ring.
Poor thing's led a tough life!



I've been here before and even over this area. This time,
however, I decided to get this rather large iron piece out of the way.
I know I've skipped over it before. Too much bother.

Anyway, 5 of those quarters came out of this same area AFTER I pulled
the iron out of the way.







The ring appears to be silver. The markings
as far as I can tell, were "CHU" "JR" & I think, "MEXICO"

"CHU...." !?!?! HEY CHUG!? Did you lose a ring!

Look how TINY that chain is!!
The little charm isn't silver but the words on it
struck home. Recently, I found a ring that said
"Fear Not". Now, this!?

And something else on the other side!



Finding any one of the three might just be happenstance.
But, all three together are speaking loud and clearly to me!

Anyhoo...I'm glad my friend talked me into celebrating HIS birthday today!

Thanks. We're not supposed to be wimpy and give in to the depression/loneliness. We're supposed to "suck it up" and keep moving. But, at least for me, this is ALWAYS an uphill battle.

Still, knowing I have at least one friend still active in my life helps. Besides, it WAS His birthday!

Ya know....in many ways, this place has become more of a family to me than either of my own.
