Watch out for spiders while out detecting!

[fishbone3d]

Got bit on my face by a recluse. Going to have a nice scar with this one The swelling was so bad, that it gave me a black eye, and an extremely bad nosebleed. Be safe, and keep an eye out for them critters.

[Ted Mac]

Recluse? In indiana? Holy crap. I thought those things were just down south. Glad your OK considering. Wheres my Raid?

[Ted Mac]

...and what is that X on your face? Did you have to get stiches?

[fishbone3d]

It is not an x, it is where the flesh is dying in the center. It felt like I got hit in the head with a steel toed boot.

[gmanlight]

Bad stuff there . I use to think thy were down south but there up here in
New England also.

[Ted Mac]

Man now im not going to be able to sleep tonight.

[GioTheGreek]

Here's a neat little map.

If they're moving up to New England... they better update this.

[fishbone3d]

Well, I am definitely in the red on that map. It has been getting progressively warmer for a while. I expect their range to get much larger in the years to come.

[mts]

Where were you when you were bitten? Were you in the woods? A park? Somewhere else? That sure looks nasty. I'm glad you appear to be ok.

[GioTheGreek]

Yikes.

That's all I need... recluse spiders in NB, Canada. I'll be hunting in paved parking lots.

Glad to see you're all good.

And don't worry, chicks love scars.

Be safe!

[baywalker]

That map is way off we have had them in F.L. years

[fishbone3d]

I was in a wooded area.

[lookindown]

That map is way off we have had them in F.L. years

Your right....Florida is well known for the Brown Recluse.

[fishbone3d]

Here is a more updated range.

[GioTheGreek]

Now that is an updated map!

[buzzgator]

Got bit on my arm 5 years ago in Wi. Left a nasty scar! Now live in recluse central Mo!

[zaxfire69]

I hate to say it but it will probably get worse. I hate those nasty spiders. I hate all spiders. I found a black widow nest 1 ft from my backdoor and a brown recluse on my front door. I sprayed everything after I found them.

[wheelerite]

we have the brown recluse in oregon also, have the black widow here too.

[bearbqd]

I killed about 50 of them suckers under my moms shed when I tore it down. They're definitely all over WV and MD.

[Imnengr]

Awwwwww, geeeez I HATE SPIDERS! Now I've got the willies. I hope you get better soon. I can only imagine what that feels like.
