water bags ?

I have a whites bag that I put my finds in when im on land,What does everyone use when your diving or in water to your waist?

I've seen some guys with coin purses straped to the arm, etc. I made a deep three pocket pouch out of vinyl. For diving, I use a closable bag.

for over 15 years i have always used 3 dollar nail pouch - last few years i have added snaps to belt and pouch

all my good rings and such i stick on string around my neck - nice soft string with baby diamper pins on it

Anyone use a mesh bag or anything that is available for sale at a dive shop,or do they make a pouch that would hook to a dive belt.Sandman what is it they put on the arm im not familiar with what your talking about.

I used to use a mesh bag with a stainless steel handle that I could slide my divers belt through. I use a cotton duck bag now with mesh in the bottom with a velcro closure that I bought at a Kellyco close out sale about 15 years ago. Wish they still made them? Maybe I should find somebody with an industrial sewing machine and make them and sell them to the TH'ers on here!

My solution is 1 quart plastic jars. I place them on my dive belt upside down and when I go to dump the trash, I merely unscrew the lid and the trash falls out. Same applies to my goodies which I dump into my hand.

The bottom has an X cut in it so I can push the item into the jar. I drilled 4 holes in the top so it will drain easy when I get out of the water. I also drilled holes on each end of each cut in the jar (bottom and sides for dive belt). This prevents the cut from enlarging further than necessary.

You can tell which one is used for trash and which one holds the goodies in the below pictures:

Surfrat, I added a cover to the front part of the mesh bag so when I come ashore my goodies are hidden. Where do you place your trash, in the same bag?

Sandman, I throw everything but rings in the mesh bag. I don't have to worry about hiding anything since there's usually more trash than loot!

I got mine from KellyCo, it's nice, the only problem with it is there doesn't seem to be a lot of gold and silver going in it lately.

I bought a fly fishing vest at Bass Pro Shop in Orlando. It isn't a typical vest that you would see a photographer wear, but more like a bag on the front w/ several zippered compartments that slips over the head w/ 2 straps and a bag on the back. I have chest mounted my Excal to the front "D" rings w/ some zipties. I can unzip the front to gain access pockets on the inside for my better finds. I also carry along a flip top plastic tube that came from a M&M's Mini candy package. I bought one in bright orange for my better finds and was able to enjoy the candy to boot. I will post some pics soon.

Another good place to check for mesh bags would be a sporting goods or outdoor store. I just bought a small mesh bag from REI on clearance for $3.00 in their canoe/kayak section. They have lots of sizes and shapes of gear bags.

I am new to detecting an i got a 3 pocket mesh bag from kellycodetectors.com. It is $17.95 and has worked well. The only drawback is you need a belt but you could rig something to work.

Okay, here are the pics of the setup I use for my Excalibur. The first one shows the front with the unit and battery mounted from the rings w/ zipties. I am going to change these over to snap links shortly so I can remove it more easily. The second showso the back, which is handy for carrying your headphones, water bottle, digging trowel, etc. The third pic is just there to show the namebrand of the vest for easier purchasing reference, and finally, the last shows the inside pockets for stowing all of your finds, multitool, etc. Hope this helps.
