Waterproof pinpointer

Other than Vibraprobe, are there any other waterproof pinpointers out there? I have nothing against Vibraprobe but I'd like one smaller in diameter and with a pointed end if possible. I have a TinyTec pinpointer and it works great but it's not waterproof. In soft ground or sand, I don't even have to dig. I can just push it into the ground and pinpoint before hand. I see a whole bunch of other pinpointers on the market but most just say "water resistant" if they mention it at all. Sounds like a chance for a good inventor out there....a pinpointer and probe all in one!

i use the vibraprobe 580 and its works great it has a rounded end just like all pinpointers

Vibra probe is the only water proof one I know off

There are several models of the Vibraprobe, the 580 being the latest. I think this is the only truly waterproof probe since it was designed for under water use.
By the way, they are designed to be used in a hole, not jammed in the ground. That is gross abuse! You should take better care of electronic equipment. Frank

That's why I like the design of my TinyTec. I've been poking it into the ground for over 20 years now and it still works fine. The end is pointed and only about !/2" in diameter. I just want a waterproof version of it. Looks like it will have to be a Vibraprobe or nothing.....unless somebody else speaks up with another option. Thanks, Mark

I have seen guys waterproof a Garrett pro-pointer by encasing it in silicone or clear caulking. Or even just putting it in a thicker plastic freezer bag. Is is water resistant to a certain extent, but for $127 I would be dang sure it was not going to be damaged.

Spoke with a nice lady at Whites yesterday and she assured me that they were about to release 2 new pinpointers that were both waterproof and had proximity alert much like the garret PP. we will have to see. I just ziplock the propointer for now

a day without pull tabs is like a day without sunshine.

I've seen somewhere: here or another forum, someone who used a shrinkwrap technique for there actual detector. Seems like this would be a good reversible improvement. It wouldn't be waterproof(i.e submersible ) but would likely protect a non-waterproof pinpointer in a downpour.
