I just posted in the what is it section, but the more I look at this I feel pretty confident it is a seal frame.
Tried 5 spots today and ended up with a few things.
My last spot I dug the flat button and the brass matrix.
It looks like it had been smashed and the seal is missing.
i have never dug a complete one.
I have a nice intaglio stone that I believe came off of one from another site.
My buddy dug a nice one several years ago, but this one is a bit more decorative.
The site has produced 1720’s French and US war of 1812 relics, but I haven’t found anything there in a long time. I am curious if anyone can date it.
