We went for a short dig after work today and found one of each nickel! I got a Jefferson (not in pic) and my first Shield nickel. Bob got the buff and the V nickel! Thinking about trying the Nic A Date. Thoughts? We each got a wheatie too. He was the big winner with the silver bracelet. It is not marked silver but I'm sure it is. The only mark inside is a backwards L > V. It's in such good shape. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Thanks! We were amazed as we didn't identify the shield nickel till we got home. It's toasted!

Well done !

It seems like Nickels are often overlooked.
Whenever I go to a site that's already been heavily hunted, I always pay close attention to Nickel signals.
I hunted an old ball field a few years ago - didn't get one single high tone hit (Penny - Dime - Quarter) signal but I did leave there with three Buffalo Nickels and one Silver War Nickel.

Yeah, I think we cleared most of this park of silver last year. Got a V and a Buff a foot apart yesterday. 😄. Nickels it is!
