We might get a small huricane our way....how did I prepare?

Well I did what any TH would do I went today and got supplies heres the pic

4x4 now I can pack it up with my gear and be ready to go!

Seriously though what should I look for and how to hunt after a hurricane? Besides safety, because I won't take a chance there but after the storm I plan to out there.

Slap a CB radio in that bad boy and your set.
A chain saw is a good idea, and maybe some heavy duty tow straps are always a good thing to have too. (just incase you have to try to drag anything out of your way)

If you're goin out on Padre Island..ya may just get a little lucky and pick up a gold or silver coin or two.. thats an excellent area for it ..with luck on your side... Keep us posted on your finds...and don't forget the pics.

roads are still closed from here to there and now the island is back shut down for everyone who is not a resident because they can't get power for a week or so...I tell you this is pure torture!

I remember on the news after Katrina, a some guy from Chicago bought a lot of gas generators and rented a moving truck and drove them down there. He charged buyers for the cost of the generator + gas for the trip + rental truck fees. He was just trying to help, but the news reported that he was arrested for price gouging. I remember they reported he had all of the receipt's for everything. I never did hear anything else about it. Some people undoubtedly made some money on price gouging, but even when you just want to help people in need, you could get into trouble. If you live in a place where the power could be knocked out every year for some length of time, maybe you should invest in a generator so your not stuck.
