The 2nd amendment is already in the Bill of Rights of our Constitution.

This forum was opened to keep members informed of the new gun laws being proposed that attack the 2nd amendment, hence the name 2nd Amendment Watchdog....

The 2nd Amendment is NOT open for debate, or attack on this forum. The right of an American citizen to be armed under the 2nd Amendment is an established right in our Bill of Rights and our Constitution.

We now stand on the precipice of what will define our country for generations to come. Those of us who have chosen to seek understanding and support the principles of our founding fathers are bound together in this forum to protect our country. Never ceases to amaze me how you can intelligently sum up in words what a number of people feel, and believe, but are unable to communicate. I have always felt that most discussions on this subject start out good, but quickly degenerate into personal attacks and critizism, without giving both sides equal time to explain themselves. By the same token, some individuals are only here to belittle the beliefs of others, and have nothing to offer, even when asked to backup their statements. A person gets tired of always having to defend what he believes, and how he was brought up by those of an opposite thought process, thusly I have been reading more and writing less. The threads here are informative, and the information is being disseminated, from whatever source, for the education of the reader. And I really get a lot out of the hard work that some are exhibiting.......but have gotten into the habit of reading the OP, and generally ignoring the subsequent arguments. We all have drawn the line in the sand, and most of us speak our minds, and mean what we say, and believe.......but I now understand fully why some take a vacation and disappear for periods of time. Life is to short to always be questioned and misunderstood, and I'm to a time in my life when I'm set in my ways, and people should accept that, and move on.

Thank you for this posting, and also believe that I m a staunch supporter of the 2nd, and the whole BOR, as they are written, and not as they are being dissected, and miss understood. Too bad Civics isn't taught in school any more.........Gary

Crispin, I am willing to agree with you 80% of the way.

This forum is being used as a sounding board for the rabidly anti-Obama crowd. I am willing to accept the fact that many people do not like him or his Administration.

The problem I have is that there is no room for opposing viewpoints. This matter is only perpetuated by consistently being barraged with misinformation.

I SUPPORT THE 2nd. I SUPPORT A PERSONS PERSONAL BELIEFS, EVEN IF IT IS ANTI OBAMA.

BUT... I refuse to sit by and allow misinformation to be spread like a cancer. My intentions are not to derail this thread, I only want my voice to also be heard. Thank you.

Thank you for adding to the conversation. I am a little confused as to something you wrote earlier in the post, "hate to burst your patriotic bubble." Hate is a very strong word. If you "hated" it that much then why not just let me stay in my bubble? I try to avoid doing things I hate at all costs. Perhaps we could apply some sympathy in this situation. A better way to have phrased your emotions would have been: "Crispin, I liked your post. It appeared patriotic. Know that you do not stand alone in this matter because you are on a forum of people that already stand for the constitution. I'm glad to have you with us. I hope this post did not offend you. I just wanted to better inform you as to what I see the reality of the 2nd amendment forum being."

No idea what you are referring to, we have elected leaders in the US. And for our political system to function, when a group doesn't have the votes to win, they must accept defeat. If they don't, nothing good will follow.

In a political system to function honestly, I guess we don't count dead peoples vote Or use a old electric or phone bill for ID. We don't stand outside a voting place and intimidate people with reference to a jungle cat. And most of all a honest person will only vote once. You may claim these as false but we are not all blind.
