The weather has been nice, and the office has been slow, and that spells treasure hunting for me!
I went out on Friday, I hit a site where a block of homes were demolished. It is really trashy, so most people don't want to hunt there. I was able to find three Wheaties and a '36 Merc that has seen better days... scratched, tarnish and a bit melted looking!
On Saturday I went out to an older local school. I was assured by the seasoned local detectorists that their Etracs had left nothing for me there. They said that they hunted the place for 30 years! They laughed, I proceeded on, low and slow with the Deus. I got a deep, scratchy, broken signal... there were nails in the hole, once I removed them, the signal cleared up... and a '45 Walker emerged from about 7" deep! Flushed with success, I proceeded onward, and shortly thereafter, a squeaky mixed tone appeared... and out comes a '46 Rosie! The sweet smell of vindication!
Todd Lipe took me out of Sunday. He dug the only silver, much to my chagrin, however I scored this sweet 1867 green IHC!
That's the third silver half that I have found in 30 days!
YTD silver coins: 84
Thanks looking, and best of luck to you on your hunts!
