Hello Fellow Tnetters. I was able to got out a little bit over the weekend and do some hunting.
Saturday:
I hooked up with TNet member Smittyman for a little hunt. We started at a school yard, the hunting was slow initially, but I hit a few Wheaties, so I was encouraged that a silver might appear... and low and behold, I get a nice signal, dig a little plug, and there is a 1918 S Merc sticking out of a chunk of dirt.
We proceeded to a vacant lot after the school, I found 4 Wheaties from the 1930s, so I was encouraged. First find was a pin, maroon and white shield. If anyone can ID it, that would be appreciated. Next I found a cupped copper pin (far right in pic) with glass enamel. Maybe some kid's craft project... your guess is as good as mine. Lastly, I found a toe ring, marked "925" with a yin & yang on it, some longhair hippie type probably lost it while playing Frisbee barefooted!
Sunday:
It was 34 degrees for a high, that is too cold for me, so it was a short afternoon hunt. I went to an old house site, that has been pounded to death. I was able to scratch up two Wheaties, a hem weight and, what I believe to be, a reins guide. The other reins guide that I have found had a threaded post, so I am not sure. Once again, any input on the ID would be appreciated.
Thanks for looking, stay warm and good luck on your hunts!
