Hello Fellow Tnetters. I was able to got out a little bit over the weekend and do some hunting.

Saturday:
I hooked up with TNet member Smittyman for a little hunt. We started at a school yard, the hunting was slow initially, but I hit a few Wheaties, so I was encouraged that a silver might appear... and low and behold, I get a nice signal, dig a little plug, and there is a 1918 S Merc sticking out of a chunk of dirt.
We proceeded to a vacant lot after the school, I found 4 Wheaties from the 1930s, so I was encouraged. First find was a pin, maroon and white shield. If anyone can ID it, that would be appreciated. Next I found a cupped copper pin (far right in pic) with glass enamel. Maybe some kid's craft project... your guess is as good as mine. Lastly, I found a toe ring, marked "925" with a yin & yang on it, some longhair hippie type probably lost it while playing Frisbee barefooted!

Sunday:
It was 34 degrees for a high, that is too cold for me, so it was a short afternoon hunt. I went to an old house site, that has been pounded to death. I was able to scratch up two Wheaties, a hem weight and, what I believe to be, a reins guide. The other reins guide that I have found had a threaded post, so I am not sure. Once again, any input on the ID would be appreciated.

Thanks for looking, stay warm and good luck on your hunts!

Hey DL,

I just got the 9" coil, so I have been using it. Most of the places that I hunt have a fair amount of trash, and that little 9" coil works well to separate the targets.

I am jealous ! I wasn't kidding about MD withdraws... lol. I am glad someone could get out though.
Nice bunch of goodies. I only have one reins guide too, so that's a sweet find with some age.
Hey, that looks like MY toe ring ! I think I was visiting Charlotte from VCU about that time..
But, I can't be sure... sketchy times, hehe Nice finds Tom HH and keep us dreaming.

On my way to work this morning, the temp was -5 actual temp, Tom. Any hunt is a good hunt, no matter what you find. Even the "longhair, hippie type's toe ring " qualifies!

Congrats again Tom! I'm glad that we were able to find some spots and dig some treasure (yours and my lone wheat) - my butt still stings from the spankin'. However since the predicted high today is 41. I think I'll be heading' out for a short hunt. That should be a great way for me to celebrate your birthday while soothing my hurt feelin's - especially knowing that you'll be working today to pay for my next Social Security check. Thanks from all us seniors and Happy Birthday!

Nice finds bud, I'm so out of the loop. I have been occupying my time with other things until this cold snap passes. I have not been on the site as much as usual. It was 4 degrees this morning, got up to about 14. I don't do wind chill. I used to be a long hair hippy freak, I had to mend my ways, never had a toe ring, knew a few hippy chicks that did though! I'm jelly from your great finds, I'm glad you found them. Zeke and you are my favorites, Smittyman must be cool just because he owns Zeke!
