Weird (Old?) roll of halfs from Eldorado Casino - Reno UPDATED

I picked up $100 in halfs today, one roll is in a brown on white wrapper marked El Dorado Hotel Casino- Reno. One half showing is a 1991, other end of roll looks like a pre 1987 coin, judgingby the eagle. Wrapper is also pretty worn.....any guesses as to whats inside?

Update. This roll was found in NY, 2,606 miles from its home. I opened it up, newest coin was 1991, in au condition(6 of them) so pretty certain this roll is 20 years old. 0 silver

even a skunk, very cool to get a casino wrapper from across the country!!! yes, pictures would be cool, never seen casino alf dollar roll/wrapper though I have heard of them. Maybe someone kept them all those years for the fact that if the casino business dropped out and the casino went out of business they would be more valueable, just my guess. HH

I think you'll need an older casino roll than that to have much of a chance at silver. I believe that modern slot machines used (before they mostly went coinless) a comparator much like a Ryedale. They would not accept silver coins. Not 100% sure on that, but thats what I have been told. At one casino I used to frequent often back in the 90's and into this century, there was one older gentleman that was almost always at the poker tables CRHing halves as he played. He'd buy $300, search them, cash 'em in and do it all over again - all night long. I watched him do this for years and years until the casino went coinless. I personally saw him search tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. During all that time, I saw him pull 1 40%er. That particular casino used halves on their poker tables for rake purposes. I no doubt played MANY thousands of hands at that casino, and saw many many rolls of halves opened. During all that time, I saw only 1 40%er hit the table.

I've seen the pit bosses exchange silver at the blackjack table.They keep a pocketful and exchange it for the silver one.Bad place to look,imho.

Nice pic unfourtinate results... I believe if someone were dealing with half dollars in a casino, they would probrably know about silver though because it all has to do with money, but you never know. I would be happy just to get the roll of halves reguardless of content, of course silver would have been a bonus. HH.
