Welcome to the site! Please post an introduction thread.

New to the Forum, I'm from South Carolina and got the detecting bug about 3 1/2 years ago. First detector was an inexpensive one and quickly spoiled my visions of treasure hunting. Decided I needed a better detector so I purchased a White's DFX. I haven't been disappointed, I recovered enough the first year to pay for it. I live along the coast and started doing a good bit of beach detecting so I purchased an Excalibur II. Again I was fortunate enough to recover enough items to recoup my cost the first year. I've recently started more inland detecting but finding it difficult to locate areas to detect in. Anyone living in the Charleston, SC area should feel free to contact me. Perhaps we can do a little detecting together. Best wishes and HH to all.

Hello everyone, new to the site not new to detecting. I live in N. California but a native of Michigan, I have lived all over the US and the world and detected in most of the counties I have lived. I love exploring and researching historical sites, I love the hunt, not only do I like to find artifacts but enjoy the history behind the artifacts and a site. Currently in the process of getting retired from the Air Force and look forward to having more time to explore and hunt. Would really like to find a hunt buddy here in the bay area.

Hello all,
I am happy to be the newest addition to the finders keepers group expanding into Nova Scotia, Canada from Clearfield Pennsylvania.
We are a treasure recovery company dedicated to the hunt for both, old and new treasures, working with the general public and government offices to be sure that everything is done both legally and with the utmost respect to those involved.
I look forward to being able share my thoughts and ideas and maybe give a new perspective to the treasure hunting community

Hello all...I am a new member to the site. My primary focus is mostly Native American artifacts but enjoy collecting ANYTHING old and interesting.

Hello I'm new to the forum. I can't even remember how I ended up here, maybe it was a youtube video about coin roll hunting led me to google though I don't know how I ended up on that video to be honest, the whole idea had never occurred to me. I've had a great time reading up on all this and have really enjoyed hearing about everyone's finds. Anyway about me, I'm a recent college graduate in the paper engineering field and I'm living in central Ohio now, though I grew up in SW Michigan.

Hey! I'm in Augusta! We're close enough to meet up and hit some spots!

I am new to the site and I love it. I am from SLC Utah and just started coin roll hunting. I collect silver coins and am super excited to have found a community of coin roll hunters so that now I know that I'm not the only wierdo that enjoys looking at thousands of pennies (as my wife seems to believe). I am hoping to be able start hunting more than just pennies when I finish grad school and get a job that will pay more.

Ahoy!

Newbie to the site. Floridian living in the Panhandle inspiring young minds by day. I grew up on Manasota Key, FL. I love to Fish, Hunt, Dive and Travel. Been a History Buff for many years. That was set in motion from the time I was able to walk on the beach and swim in the ocean. One can only imagine the stories and tall tales I was told from the fishermen and oldtimers while growing up in that small village (which is no longer that). I am presently in need of a new hobbie and think my interest would lead me to more exciting endeavors...

Yo-Ho-Ho

I am retired, live full time in an RV and travel around the U.S. hiking and detecting when I can. I am currently in south Texas, but that will change from month to month as I explore this country. Please forgive me in advance for being an old school curmudgeon. I don't twidder, facebook or any of the like. I built my first metal detector from an article in a science magazine back in the fifties. It worked, in a very basic way. I used it at school playgrounds on weekends. I started buying them, when I could, and have pretty much always had one. My current Garrett 1500 works fine for what I need. It is not perfect, but I have yet to find anything that is. My singular advice to any and all is to be patient and know when to give up on a funky hole. I look forward to reading some posts. I will jump in when I have something worthwhile to offer.
